How do I add my first pool?

After signing up, tap "Add Pool" and follow the 2-step wizard. First, enter your pool's name, brand, and location. Then enter dimensions (length, width, depth) or input volume directly in cubic meters. SplashBuddy calculates capacity automatically for precise dosage recommendations.

What is the first-run shock treatment?

When you set up a new pool, SplashBuddy recommends a shock chlorination at 20g per cubic meter to sanitize fresh water. It also checks pH and suggests adjustments if needed. After treatment, you'll get a 24-hour reminder to re-measure your water.

What measurement methods are available?

SplashBuddy offers three ways to test your water: Manual sliders for pH (6.2–8.4) and chlorine (0–10 ppm), color palette matching with visual swatches, and AI camera analysis (Pro) that reads test strips and drop test kits using advanced computer vision.

How does AI camera analysis work?

Simply take a photo of your test strip or drop test kit. Our AI analyzes the colors and patterns to extract pH and chlorine values automatically. For best results, place your test strip on a white surface in good lighting.

What's included in the Free plan?

Free users get 1 pool, manual and palette water testing, treatment dosage calculations, 7-day maintenance reminders, weather alerts, and equipment tracking. It's everything you need for basic pool care.

What does Pro unlock?

Pro gives you unlimited pools, AI camera analysis, smart chemical forecasting, historical water quality trends, weekly maintenance reports, and priority support. Plans start at $9.99/month or $89.99/year (save 25%).

You can create an account with email and password, or sign up instantly with Google or Apple Sign-In. The app is available on both iOS and Android.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime through your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) subscription settings. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

What is the ideal pH range?

The ideal pH range for pool water is 7.2 to 7.6. Below 7.2, water becomes acidic and can irritate skin and corrode equipment. Above 7.6, chlorine becomes less effective and water can turn cloudy.

What is the ideal chlorine range?

Ideal chlorine levels are between 1 and 3 ppm (parts per million). Below 1 ppm, bacteria and algae can grow. Above 3 ppm, chlorine will naturally dissipate over time — no action needed.

How are dosages calculated?

SplashBuddy calculates dosages based on your pool's capacity: approximately 10g of pH+ or pH- per cubic meter for each 0.2 pH step needed. Chlorine dosage is 10g per cubic meter for regular maintenance, or 20g per cubic meter for initial shock treatment.

What if my chlorine is too high?

If chlorine exceeds 3 ppm, no chemical treatment is needed. Chlorine naturally dissipates over time through sunlight exposure and evaporation. SplashBuddy will notify you when levels return to the ideal range.
